I had an unexpected surprise a couple weeks ago. I was in Rochester, NY on business, and needed to drive to Syracuse that evening in advance of the next day’s meetings. A colleague asked me a question about the origin of the LDS church and I shared some of the Joseph Smith story. I then realized that we probably weren’t too far away and checked the map on my phone. I was delighted to see that it was right on our way to Syracuse. We stopped at the Hill Cumorah visitors center, the new Palmyra temple, and the Sacred Grove. A counselor from the temple presidency spent 20 minutes teaching us about the unique characteristics of the temple including the window overlooking the Sacred Grove and the original artwork. What a great surprise!
